DriverWatchdog will be providing monitoring services for all GasForFREE vehicles.  DriverWatchdog is a vehicle monitoring service for companies and parents of teen drivers.

As part of the GasForFREE service to its advertising clients, the DriverWatchdog monitoring will allow advertising clients complete assurance that their brand is being protected in the marketplace.

The DriverWatchdog service allows the driving community to monitor and provide information regarding one of the participating vehicles in the program.

The idea is not only to monitor and protect the brand in the public domain, GasForFREE is working on an incentive program to reward driver’s for positive feedback given via the DriverWatchdog monitoring program.  Details of this incentive have not yet been released.  Keep an eye on further blog posts and updates on the GasForFREE website for more information.

The GasForFREE service was written up on Mashable.com yesterday (7/22) and a video interview featuring founder; Jason Scott on their “Mashable Conversations” format was included in the article.

The lead into the story was written by journalist; Mark ‘Rizzn’ Hopkins.

“There’s no way, particularly with today’s gas prices, you can turn down at least a look at an idea for getting free gas. One of the interesting startups we discovered at the SummerMash Seattle stop is a local startup that sells the advertising space … on your car .. in return for free gas. They are aptly named GasForFree.”

Per our Government supplied feed on gasoline averages, regular gasoline prices dropped nearly $0.05 per gallon.

This feed is automatically updated each week on Monday morning.

For information concerning gasoline prices in your area, we recommend http://www.gasbuddy.com as a resource for finding out up-to-date prices at local area filling stations.  This ranks the least expensive stations based upon your zipcode and the information is user supplied and should be fairly accurate.

Thanks go out to Pete Cashmore of Mashable.com for bringing this event to Seattle and I look forward to attending more SeattleMash events in the future.
